ADDmirableWomen is a high-volume list where women with ADD/ADHD (attention deficit disorder) can "give and receive advice, support, and encouragement along every step of their ADDmirable Journey." AFAMFEMPLAYWRIGHTS is dedicated to promoting African American female playwrights and African American theatre by providing a forum for the exchange of ideas among African American female playwrights. Although primarily a group for African American female playwrights, AFAMFEMPLAYWRIGHTS welcomes other African American female theatre artists and technicians. AFEMMSS-L is a list associated with the Association for Feminist Epistemologies, Metaphysics, Methodologies, and Science Studies. The list aims to be an interdisciplinary group for people studying gender and science from many perspectives. To subscribe, see information at member info page

AMAZON is a moderated list for women who are using alternative treatments (e.g., herbs, supplements, diet, meditation, journal keeping, fasting, etc.) as the primary treatment for breast cancer. This is a supportive forum for women to discuss any aspect of the disease, including treatments they are interested in learning about and those they are trying. AMAZONS INTERNATIONAL is a moderated list (though called a newsletter) for and about Amazons ("physically and psychologically strong, assertive women who are not afraid to break free from traditional ideas about gender roles, femininity, and the female physique") and their friends and lovers. ARTISTS-AND-WRITERS is the email list of the Women Artists & Writers International, publisher of the electronic magazine Moondance: Celebrating Creative Women. AUSFEM-POLNET is an Australian list connecting policy practitioners and scholars working to improve the status of women. AWSS-L (Association for Women in Slavic Studies) is a moderated list intended to serve the professional and academic needs of women working in Slavic Studies as researchers, teachers, students, librarians, and/or program administrators. BABIES is a list for women with polycystic ovarian syndrome who are trying to become pregnant. To subscribe, send a message to BABIES-REQUEST@LISTS.BEST.COM and type just the word SUBSCRIBE in both the subject header and the body of the message. More information is available at the PCOS web site.

Balkan Women and Friends is a list for exchanges of information between social scientists and others who conduct research women in the Balkans. It also welcomes the participation of others concerned with the situation of women in Balkan societies. It circulates information about on-going and completed research, publications, journals, conferences, calls for papers, jobs, etc. For more information or to subscribe, see the BalkanWomen web page. BCN-FLASH is a twice-a-day newsletter devoted to breaking news about the prevention, screening, and treatment of breast cancer. It contains brief article summaries along with URLs that point to the full news articles at their source. It will be of interest to breast cancer survivors and their family and support systems, as well as physicians and other health professionals. BCS WOMEN is a British-based discussion group under the aegis of the British Computer Society devoted to providing support for all woomen working in information technology. For more information, including how to join, see the BCS Women web site or the BCS Women Yahoo Groups page.

BFAR (Breastfeeding after Reduction Surgery) is a forum for support and exchange of information among women who have had reduction mammoplasty (breast reductions). Topics include all aspects of breastfeeding in relation to the unique challenges of doing so after breast reduction surgery. Only women who have already had the surgery will be eligible to subscribe. BIG-MOMS "is primarily for large moms (be they tall or obese or both), and large women who want to be moms," as well as other people who are supportive of big moms. BIRACIALLESBIANS is a Yahoo list for bi-racial and multiethnic lesbians of color and other lesbians of color who are interested in issues exploring multiculturalism and diversity as they relate to identity. Discussion topics include current political observations, cultural identification, self perception, and goals. For more information or to subscribe, go to the Yahoo BIRACIALLESBIANS web page. BIRTHCTR is a list for midwives who practice at birth centers. The list is a forum to discuss midwifery and business issues specific to birth centers. BISEXU-L describes itself as designed for "the cordial and civilized exchange of ideas, opinions, and experiences relevant to the topic of bisexuality between members of all sexual orientations and preferences." BITHRY-L is "a list for the theoretical discussion of bisexuality and gender issues. It is neither a social group, nor a support group, nor an announcement or news forum." Subscription messages (SUB BITHRY-L Your Name) should be sent to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.BROWN.EDU.

BIZ-L is a list for women in business, especially Canadian women business owners. The list supports members in their efforts to get into business, find new customers, market their products/services, and network. To subscribe, send the message SUBSCRIBE BIZ-L to MAJORDOMO@WOMEN.CA .

BLACK_WOMEN_DEPRESSION is a forum for black women who are dealing with depression, anxiety, bipolar, other mental illness or just the strain of having to deal with "strong black woman" syndrome. For more information or to subscribe, see the black_women_depression Yahoo groups web site.

BlkSnglMoms (Black Single Moms) brings together Black single moms and providers of products and services created to provide family, parental, safety, and business development assistance. For more information or to subscribe, see the BlkSnglMoms web page.

B-MAIL, run by the NSW Breast Cancer Institute (Australia), is a list for everyone concerned with breast cancer: health care professionals, breast cancer patients and their families and friends, and others interested in breast cancer. [NOTE: B-MAIL has been temporarily halted; it should resume again at the end of July '98, at which time I'll post updated info.]

BOL began as a moderated list "for people and organizations within South Asia and outside to come together, discuss and work on issues of gender, reproductive health and rights and legal developments pertaining to human rights within the region." More recently, it expanded its focus to include women's studies in the South Asian region. Breast Cancer Network Nova Scotia is a Canadian web-based forum whose aim is to provide information and support for all people concerned with breast cancer: patients, family members, caregivers, healthcare providers, etc. To read or contribute, go to http://bca.ns.ca/forum/. BYLADY-L focuses on literature by women, with special emphasis on novelists writing in the mid-18th to mid-19th century. CampusWomenLead is a moderated list co-sponsored by the Association of American Colleges & Universities' Program on the Status and Education of Women and the National Initiative for Women in Higher Education. It is designed for women administrators, faculty, staff, and students to share information, solve problems, offer resources, and include information about professional development opportunities for women in higher education. CANSX-L is a low-volume forum for discussion and resource sharing of information about the study of sexuality and gender. Though the original aim was to provide a forum with a Canadian focus, the list has members from all over the world. CAPA WOMEN, affiliated with the Council of Australian Postgraduate Associations, includes women's officers, research officers, and women students interested in supporting and cheering each other through the sometimes onerous times of tertiary study. CCE is a list for Childbirth Educators. The emphasis is on Natural Childbirth methods. Some members are certified childbirth educators, and others are trying to decide whether teaching childbirth is for them. This is a list for business aspects of teaching, sharing of methods, and other professional concerns. CDN-WOMEN is a moderated list created to strengthen links among organizations, individuals, and groups across Canada involved in women's health. It serves as a forum for discussion and debate on current issues affecting women and girls. It is also a place to share information and resources, events, calls for action, and research findings (both biomedical and social research). CEW (Canadian Entrepreneurial Women) is a list for Canadian women in business, women entrepreneurs in Canada, or women in Canada who might want to start a business. CHICNEWS(ChicanaWriter News) is an interactive list that welcomes calls for papers, general information, and news about Chicanas across the United States, as well as personal commentaries and Chicana activism. CHILDFREE provides information, discussion, and a supportive environment for those who have actively chosen to be child-free as well as those in the process of so chosing or who have been forced, for various reasons, to remain child-free. The list encourages the child-free lifestyle; it is not for those trying to find ways out of it, nor for those wishing to criticize it. CNWE is the email list for the Catholic Network for Women's Equality, a support and advocacy group for women and men in the Roman Catholic tradition. Based in Canada, the organization seeks "to effect structural change in the institutional church that reflects the mutuality and integrity of a community of co-equal disciples." CompSciblings is a Facebook group for men and women to join together to discuss any and all issues relating gender in the STEM fields. The idea is both to get a broader viewpoint on issues affecting women in the field, as well as to hear from the source about issues affecting men. CompScisters is a Facebook group for women taking the free online courses (MOOCs) offered by Udacity, Coursera, and EdX within the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Departments.
