Nine-month program leading to a Masters of Science in Applied Molecular Biology

    tarting last year we began accepting applications from Juniors at UMBC to join the Senior Year Affiliate Program. Members of the affiliate program will be involved in activities along with the AMB class of 2001-2002. We can not guarantee acceptance into the 2002-2003 class, but participation in the program will be considered for admission. Students in this program will be pre-screened for acceptance and will also receive guidance in how best to complete both a B.S. and M.S. degree in five years.

    The Washington Post reports that "(t)he local job market may be littered with pink slips from failed dot-com and telecom ventures, but one small segment of Washington's tech economy is still casting its nets for new hires." They report that on the MdBio web site 40 companies have listed 232 job openings! (Digital Capital column, 10/4/2001)
