Applications for admission
to any of our graduate programs are considered on a rolling basis.
Students normally matriculate in the Fall semester, though Spring
admissions can be considered in special circumstances.

Requirements
|
To be admitted
to graduate study in the Department of Biological Sciences, a student
must have graduated from an accredited four-year college or university
and have met the following prerequisites: Calculus (one semester)
|
- Organic Chemistry
(two semesters with laboratory)
- Physics (two semesters)
- Genetics (one semester)
- Cell Biology (one
semester)
- Research experience
(preferred but not required)

- Official transcripts
from all college-level institutions attended
- Three letters from
professional references
- Statement of academic
goals and research interests
- Official report of
the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) general test
- Official report of
the GRE subject test in biology, chemistry or molecular biology
(recommended but not required)
- Official report of
the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) from applicants
whose native language is not English; a minimum score of 600 (paper)
or 250 (computer-based) is required for admission
