How the Web Works

HTTP is used to exchange messages over the Web between servers, where data is stored for viewing over the Internet, and individual computers, where users access the data. HTTP is the language used by a Web browser to request and view a Web page from a Web server.

There are two main types of Web browsers used to view Web pages.
