Lesson Using Computers in Instruction

In this assignment, you and a partner are to develop a lesson which incorporates computer use at some point in the lesson. You will team teach a 15 minute segment of the lesson to the class (our 791C group) which best exemplifies your use of technology in the lesson. A complete lesson plan must be submitted on the day of your lesson presentation. Interdisciplinary lessons are encouraged. The computer(s) may be used in many ways within your lesson. Certainly, there are many other ways of using computers in your lesson so use your imagination.

You are expected to use INTERNET resources for your lesson development as described in Resources for you the teacher, Resources for your students and Accessing the INTERNET.

You will be graded according to the following criteria:

  1. Complete lesson plan submitted on the day you present your lesson. The lesson plan must include all of the elements of a good lesson as described in previous classes in this program. The following elements must be included:
  2. Clear presentation of lesson to the group.
  3. Appropriate use and demonstration of the use of computers in a lesson.
  4. List resources:

    Minimum of four INTERNET resources used to develop, inform and/or implement the lesson. List the URL (Website location) given in the URL box near the top of the Netscape screen. URLs always begin http:// See Accessing the INTERNET

    List any other resources or materials used for the lesson in APA style.

    While each pair submits the lesson plan, each individual must submit, by e-mail, a note describing his/her personal contributions to the lesson, a short reflection on any items from the professional development plan (from the first night) and recommendations for improving this class.

    You must submit your lesson topic proposal to Sue Monthie by e-mail before the day before the second class meeting. Be sure to include both partners' names and the grade level you are planning to teach.
