Me
Alone In a dead city
Destruction is all around me For I have
brought
The walls of the temple
Crashing down upon me
I have brought myself to ruin
~1991
Dreams
fade
Twilight into moon
Grey clouds into crunching thunder
Soft,
the sleeper
dreams
His web untarnished
By world awake
~3/96
The
odor of
the lake is pungent and ripe
Fragrant with the life of its inhabitants
The carp, grown fat and lazy, swim languidly
Rising to the rippling surface to nibble at algae-covered branches
Then slipping silently away when the waterstriders contest them for the
surface
territory
A leaf
falls
from a lake-side tree and spins crazily, dipping to its side
Taking on water like a small boat
Then tipping sideways, and plunging to the depths
Another bit of decor for the carps' parlor
~9/9/97
Eyes of
earth
and life pierce me
A living arrow burrowing to my core
Sharp and frightening
But the pain--it is everything
I lust for it like a drug
And compelled, I seek to be wounded again
~1/8/00
I want
her
so badly
God--the need is a vortex
I am consumed over and over
Spat out to be ravaged again
She
turns me
into a sponge
Absorbing even her discarded air
Anything that she has touched
Her words are placed under lock and key
Analyzed, catagorized, memorized
Why is
is like
this--the lust for the impossible?
It has become sick, a travesty
It lowers her, to be a part of this thing
And I become almost capable of love
~7/30/00
A
question,
a kiss
Darkness masks the stumbling
The smell of sex, stale and dirty
Not quite innocent--near enough
Strong hands, strong words
Control slips away like the cigarette smoke
Words have no power
It is
done
I am left
Laughter filters through the peeling wall
I
am
left so very alone
~10/13/00
Sadness
rolls
down like fog from the hills
Blanketing all in its dank clouds
Boundaries are blurred and forms indistinct
Isolating every man--an island in the white
Too
long I
have waited in this emotional limbo
Dealing with nothing, and dwelling on all
I fumble for your hand and call out to you
But I have coated you with my tears, and you slip away
