NOTE: on days we have critiques begin hanging your work as soon as you enter the classroom. Always bring your sketch book, and the tools, and materials that is required for that class. Check the calendar for the current assignment.

The calendar is flexible and subject to change depending on progress by the class as a whole. Through out the semester I will assign exercises that may not be included in the list.

Introduction to VC I, syllabi and course expectations; review the materials list.

Bring to next class all your tools that you have purchased at this point. Purchase your tools, materials as soon as possible. After each class you ought to make entries into your journal regarding what was discussed during class. Begin making preliminary drawings as often as possible.

Assign Project 1: 4 GEOMETRIC / ORGANIC COMPOSITIONS Create 30-40 thumb-nail drawings in your sketch book based on Bauhaus and Purism principles. Working from your thumbnail drawings further develop your ideas on a 16 X 20 sheet of paper. REQUIRED. *Hand in thumbnail drawings September 14. Due Septemeber 21

view artist works that relate to appropriation and pop culture. Alternative spray techniques will be explored.
Bring the following to class; pump spray bottle, tooth brush, small piece of screen, x-acto knife, drawing tools, glue, brush, black higgins ink, 16X20 sheet of good quality white paper, flat items with complex shape, masking tape. Bring with you your photocopy pieces to begin exploring compositional tests.
