The assigned text for this course is Earth: an Introduction to Physical Geology by Tarbuck and Lutgens (6th edition, 1999, Prentice-Hall). The book comes along with a compact disc that is readable on both Windows and Macintosh systems. The CD has illustrations, photographs, animations and video clips, sample test questions, chapter summaries, and a variety of other resources. You are strongly encouraged to make use of the CD; it is a major reason why I adopted this book, as I expect it will help make the subject matter come to life for you.

I don't assume, however, that you have access to a computer at home capable of reading the CD. If you do, so much the better, but if not, you can make use of it in the computer labs on campus. If you have any difficulty doing this, please let me know and I will try to help in resolving the problem.
