Welcome to the Mentoring Mini-Course designed to prepare experienced instructional specialists to mentor new instructional specialists. Online course content is followed by brief online or pencil and paper practice activities.

Objectives

At the end of this mini course, participants should be able to:

• Identify the attributes of effective mentoring
• Identify appropriate mentoring strategies to meet specific protégé needs
• Use appropriate questioning strategies to help the protégé solve problems and develop professionally
• Implement a plan to initiate and begin building an effective mentoring relationship
