This photograph shows (from left to right) Yang Liu, Mayyada El-Sayed, Adil Zuber, Payam Rezaei, Doug Frey, and Sevda Deldari on the swinging bridge that crosses the Patapsco River at the Orange Grove area in the park on July 31, 2015.

Left photo: I was very honored to be selected to give the 2014 Csaba Horvath Distinguished Lecture in Chemical Engineering at Yale University. This photograph shows Professor Daniel Rosner from Yale and myself just after my lecture on April 16, 2014. We were standing in front of Mason Laboratory at Yale, which is where Csaba Horvath conducted his research on HPLC from 1972 to 2004.

Right photo: A group of UMBC students traveled with me to Yale to hear my lecture. This photograph shows (from left to right) Nuno Pinto (UMBC), Adil Zuber (UMBC), Stacy Kenaan (Yale), Seyla Azoz (Yale), Fang Ren (Yale), Yang Liu (UMBC), Madhubanti Chatterjee (UMBC), and Payam Rezaei (UMBC) at one of the local student hangouts at Yale on April 16, 2014.

Left photo: After the hard winter of 2013-4, we decided to celebrate the arrival of spring by going to the Baltimore inner habor. This photo shows our research group at the inner harbor on April 2, 2014. The person who is second from the left is Stacy Kanaan, who was visiting our laboratory from Yale on this day.

Right photo: Nuno Pinto just after his successul Ph.D. thesis defense on December 8, 2013. In this photo Nuno is being congratulated by Dr. Mariajose Castellanos, who was a member of Nuno's thesis committee. Dr. Castellanos was expecting her first child in this photo and had her baby the next day. Thank you Dr. Castellanos for being so considerate in the timing of your delivery!

Left photo: The UMBC BioMOD team on Nov. 15, 2013. This team has the task of making the DARPA "Biologically-Derived Medicine on Demand" (BioMOD) device, which is a briefcase-sized device for point-of-care therapeutic protein production. We are competing with a similar team at MIT to make the best device. If you look carefully, you will find Doug Frey, Hui Guo, Adil Zuber, and Mayyada El-Sayed from our laboratory in this photo. Yang Liu, who is also on the BioMOD team, is not in this photo. Instead, she was busy in the lab getting results and didn't have time to pose for a picture! (see right photo)

Right photo: Yang Liu using one of our HPLC systems on Oct. 16, 2013.
