Web Evaluations
Writing in the Matrix

The purpose of this activity is to create a web design evaluation unit.  Building on the criteria in the overall web source evaluation unit, use the Williams text to focus on design. For this activity, work in pairs.  Surf the web to find 5-10 sites that intrigue you.  Using the two checklists on pages 152 and 153 in the Williams text on “Not so good” pages and page 154 “So much better”, evaluate the sites you have selected.  You may decide to review sites in a specific discipline or across disciplines; the completed activity should include at least 2 excellent and 2 ‘not-so-good’ illustrations, selected to teach the principles of sound web design.  Be prepared to share these web samples and evaluations with the class tomorrow .
