New York City
June 13-15, 2002

We ended up fitting a lot into our little three day trip to the Big Apple. We arrived in Manhattan Thursday morning and hit the Hello Deli for lunch. After that, we went over to Rockefeller Center and did the NBC Studio tour. Next, we headed over to see a taping of the "Daily Show with Jon Stewart," and finished off the day at Jekyll & Hyde.

On Friday, we headed back to Rockefeller where we caught part of a David Bowie concert he was doing for the Today Show and then we headed down to the Financial District. The NYSE was closed-to-the-public but we did get to take in the World Trade Center cleanup operation which was pretty powerful. Then we headed back to Greenwich Village to walk around a bit and stopped in to John's Pizzeria for lunch and had dessert at Cones before heading back to NBC to sit in on a taping of "Late Night with Conan O'Brain." Christian Slater was the main guest for the show. After that, we headed down to catch the Broadway phenomenon "the Producers" and then headed back to the W in Time Square to catch some z's.

The next day we caught a showing of Space Station 3D at the world's largest IMAX and then headed down to take in another Broadway show called the "Sweet Smell of Success" starring, one of my favorite actors, John Lithgow. After that, we headed back down to the South Street Seaport and took a speedboat out to see the Statue of Liberty, and finally we topped the whole trip off with a ride up to the observation deck of the Empire State Building for a spectacular view of the city.

Here are a couple pictures--
