Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI) and Gestural Interaction to Support Communication

Overview

Our research has examined the merits of using low-cost BCI and gestural interface technologies to support the communication process. Studies have been conducted examining whether emotional information can be transmitted using BCI and gestures for Instant Messaging, and whether these technologies can be used to assist individuals with physical disabilities or individuals with speech and language disorders. Studies have also been undertaken to support text entry among individuals with motor disabilities.
