IMAGE/INE Basics
Before Getting Started...

Image/ine works with 3 potential imaging layers:

Foreground
Background
Displace Source

Within these layers you may place a QT Movie, a video (live or recorded), and an image file, (as well as other options); but you may not have more than one QT Movie, video or image file layering at the same time.

Image Files are imported into the "Buffer" (command + 2) which accepts PICT or JPEG files.
Quicktime movies are imported into the "QT Movies" (command + 3) window which accepts many popular compression schemes, recommended are: Sorenson Video or Cinepak.
Video comes in recorded or live through the "Video" Window (command + 0)

It's helpful to mark your Keyboard with the following FKeys:

FKEYS
Video is F1
QT Movies are F2
Buffer Still Images are F3
Text is F4
FrameSelect (1,2+3) are F5, F6 and F7 respectively
Draw is F8
Color is F9
Sound is F10
Screen Background 1 is 1
Screen Background 2 is 2
Screen to Buffer is 3
Video to Buffer is 4
Movie to Buffer is 5

 

To place any of the above in the Foreground choose the FKey as listed

To place any of the above in the Background choose "Shift" plus the FKey as listed

To place any of the above in the Displace Source choose "Control" plus the FKey as listed
