AUCTIONING THE INN

The Jahn Inn was at 43 Tuchmacher Strasse (Clothmaker Street), Frankfurt an der Oder. This was the center of the west side of town (the east side is today Poland). The Jahns lived within a couple of blocks of all government buildings, churches, parks, marketplaces and the bridge leading one east of the Oder where the castle resided. They lived approximately one mile from the new Railway station which would take them to Berlin (stopping Treptow where Ferdinand grew up). In the 1890's Frankfurt an der Oder was the largest city in Brandenburg outside of Berlin/Potsdam, with over half million people.
