Midterm examination (25%) - tentatively set for Thurs., October 24
A 5-10 page paper (25%) - due Tues., November 19; topics MUST be approved by me no later than Tuesday, November 12, and preferably much earlier .
Before you write your paper, be 
Final examination (40%) - Set for Thursday., December 19 (1:00 - 3:00 pm)
Extra credit: Some opportunity may exist for extra credit through active, substantive participation on class e-mail discussion list and/or construction of web site relevant to the course. I will discuss this in more detail in class.
