Where
are our youth after school?
It's a question that parents, teachers, and community members struggle with on a daily basis. We hope that youth are participating in constructive activities such as reading, athletics, academics, and homework, but sadly this is often not the case. Student often spend the hours after school in a counterproductive manner. What can be done about this problem? While it is clear that there is no 'silver bullet' solution for ending teen pregnancy, drug use, underraged drinking, high dropout rates, poor families, diseases, and overall a poor quality of life for many of our youth in urban areas, we believe that after school programs are one piece to this grand puzzle. Specifically, after school programs that are effectively designed and implemented comprised of constructive activities will engage our youth after school in an otherwise tumultious time of day for our youth. Please feel free to browse our website that advocates for the use of after school programs. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to Contact Us. |
