Financial Aid

This is an intensive program, meaning that it will not be possible to continue working. This is especially true of the 9-month option. We understand the burden this will place on many applicants to the program and do or utmost to obtain as much financial assistance as possible. Scholarships in the form of credit waivers will be made to eligible students. Beginning this year students in the program will also be employed part-time as teaching assistants in undergraduate Biology courses. The combination of direct financial assistance and TA support means that for many the cost of the program has been reduced to a minimum. In addition, applicants should contact the Financial Aid Office to explore other forms of financial aid including student loans.

The program has been intentionally designed to reduce the financial burden on students. Those interested in this program should realize that nealy all of our graduates who have chosen to forgo further training have begun lucrative careers in the biotechnology industry soon after graduation. We believe that this is a cost-effective investment in a future career in the biotechnology industry.
