Section 05: Monday & Wednesday, 2:30 pm – 3:45 pm, MP 106

Grading

Your grade is based on six programming projects, six homework assignments, two in-class exams, and the final exam. The points are distributed as follows:

Percent # Total
Project 0 3 1 3%
Project 1-5 7 5 35%
Homework 1-6 2 6 12%
Exam 1 & 2 15 2 30%
Final Exam 20 1 20%
Total: 100%

Your final letter grade is based on the standard ten-point scale:

0 ≤ F < 60 ≤ D < 70 ≤ C < 80 ≤ B < 90 ≤ A ≤ 100.

Your grade is given for timely work done during the semester; make-ups and extensions will only be given for documented medical or family emergencies.

Projects

Projects are common to all sections of the course. Please see the course-wide projects page for information.

Homework

There will be six homework assignments during the semester. For my sections, homework is to be submitted on Blackboard as a PDF document. Homework assignments will be posted as Google documents; you are to copy the document, type your solutions in the copy of the document, produce a PDF file from the document, and submit the PDF file.

Homework must be submitted on Blackboard as a PDF document. Late homework will not be accepted.

Announcements

All section announcements will be posted on Blackboard. Course-wide announcements will be posted on the website as well as Blackboard.

Assigned Readings

You need to keep up with the assigned readings during the semester. You are responsible for the material in the readings, even if it is not covered during lecture.

You must study to do well in this course. It will not be enough to attend lectures and do the homework. As advanced undergraduates, you will be responsible for learning material that is not necessarily covered in lectures.
