You can customize almost any screen element in Windows NT
by clicking the desktop with the right mouse button and then clicking
Properties. The Display Properties allow you to do the following:

Change the
background color or add a bitmap to your desktop. |

Change the
font used for your menus, title bars, and other elements. |
|
Select a different
screen saver. |
To change your display resolution
- Right click with your mouse anywhere on
your open desktop. A list will appear. Choose Properties at the bottom.
- Click on the tab labled Settings.
- Use the scroll bar labled Desktop Area to make
your resolution larger or smaller.
Tips

After you
have selected the desired display resolution click on the Test button.
This ensures that you monitor and video display card can handle the
new resolution. After you have tested the resolution, and you
find it works correctly, select OK. You may be asked to reboot
your computer. If so, save your current work and reboot the
computer. |

Note:
If you see a scrambled screen during the test phase then your computer
might not be able to handle the new resolution. You can try
adjusting the Refresh Rate to obtain your desired resolution but make
sure you test each setting when it is changed. |
To protect your screen from pixel burn set
up a screen saver
- Right click with your mouse anywhere on
your open desktop. A list will appear. Choose Properties at the bottom.
- In the list in the Screen Saver area, click
the screen saver you want to use.
Tips

The screen saver
starts if your computer is idle for the number of minutes specified
in the Wait box. |

only a limited set of screen savers is installed during Windows NT
