This particular bank is a service of the United States department of Labor and State public employment service agency. This helps people find jobs and realize their career goals. There are links to 1,800 state employment service offices and provides job seekers with the largest pool of active job opportunities anywhere. Nationwide listings in America's Job Bank contain information on approximately 250,000 jobs. America's job bank is available on computer systems in public libraries, colleges, universities, high schools, shopping malls and other public places.

Best Bets from the Net

This particular search pulls all the Net's sources of jobs and openings, and as well offers career development. Some of the categories include: Education and academics, Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Technology, Business and Government, Career Development Resources , Appendixes, Other Internet Jobs, and Tips for Beginners. The user can also search for a specific employer, search or post resumes, search a career resource center, and an international gateway for international job opportunities. Career Mosaic was easy to use and returned a large amount of information.

CareerNET

Another excellent source for career information is CareerNET. This site has MORE information than one would ever need! When users access the site access is obtained to over 11,000 links to jobs, employers, businesses, consultants, and education. If one are relocating this is an excellent site to visit. Not only does one get employment information, but also information on government, schools, and even banking. Users can select an “alpha” which searches for all information beginning with the letter chosen or one can select a state and be presented with information from that particular state. Users can even search for employment in Canada and various other countries. Best of all, it doesn’t take forever to load.

Career Quest

This job search site on the web is very simple to use; you merely click on the field choice that you are interested in, and it will then give you a listing of the jobs that it has available in that area. The listing contains the name and address of the company/organization and a short description of the job duties, salary in some cases.

Overall Career Quest was not very useful for most people for the following reasons. First, the field choices were very limiting; in fact, only six choices were available. Second, there was no way of limiting jobs down to certain geographical areas. Third, most of the jobs were in southern California and no jobs in the eastern half of the United States could be located. Fourth, relatively few jobs were available at this site.

College Grad Job Hunter

The College Grad Job Hunter contains several job listings for entry level positions as well as links to helpful information to college applicants. Currently, twelve major companies have posted job listings at this site. The user can access the job listings by supplying one or more key parameters. Supplying the occupation, description, salary, state or region allow the applicant to filter out specific job opportunities. Company Profiles (Job Trak) gives a brief summary of many companies which can be viewed by interested future employees. This site is very helpful to people who are searching for jobs. People can view each company and decide which one would be an appropriate place for he or she to be employed at. Company Profiles is an innovative way to decide which company best fits the needs of the employees.

E-SPAN

Another useful career site is E-SPAN. This site allows users to search for jobs, read employer profiles, submit resumes, and search the CareerPro database for jobs. There is even a Featured Employer of the month section. The CareerPro Masterfile Database allows one to search for employment based on geographic location, title, and salary. Users of this service need to register with the service to use it. There is no fee and they will even e-mail employment opportunities to their users.

Helpwanted is a site that allows viewers to seek jobs posted by companies and agencies. This site allows viewers to search for jobs in a very useful way. It gives viewers the option to post their resumes on- line, so that employers can contact them. Helpwanted.com is an excellent on-line site for job seekers to visit.

Job Bank USA allows viewers to search for jobs in a variety of ways. This is a very informative and useful site. It allows viewers to search for jobs, submit resumes and use the recruiter services. JobBank USA is a very resourceful tool in the job hunt.

Job Trak

Job Trak is a very well organized site that enables users who are looking for jobs to create and post resumes. The site for college graduates also gives job search tips in addition to job listings, company profiles, and a guide to graduate schools. Another useful option that is available here is a school-specific job listing page. At this listing page, employers can post jobs for just graduates and undergraduates from specific schools.

Altogether, Job Trak is one of the best locations to find a job or graduate school on the World Wide Web because of several reasons: First, the directions are very easy to use and understand. Second, thousands of jobs are posted at this location. Third, the job descriptions are well developed. It also contains on-line career services for help with writing resumes. Another hyper-link would search for jobs all over the world. Career Mosaic was very easy to use and contained a lot of help.

Nation Job Search

Another great site is entitled Nation Job Search. This site enables one to search for employment based on a set of criteria. It is entirely menu driven and very easy to use. For example, one can search for a full-time job in the Engineering / Technical / Computers field, on the east coast, utilizing a bachelors degree, for over 35,000 a year. The search tool will prompt the user with more menu s if needed. Users can also search for a company which meets their specific criteria in the same fashion.

OCC Recruiters Office

OCC Recruiters Office returns a listing of many subjects. Some of those subjects are a listing of college recruiting, post/submit job ads, and career fairs. The Online Career Center is a "good" source of job information for those who already have a few years of experience. The large number of available job listings covers a broad range of both occupations and locations making it much more versatile than many other sites. Although many different types of jobs were offered, most required 2 to 7 years of experience in a specific field or skill. This site like many others, lacks the amount of entry level job listings that would make it a good source for the majority of recent college graduates.

The Worldwide Job Search Center allows a person to get to his/her resume listed. The cost is $5.00. Different options include: get free links at link site index, access Hyper Search index, go to the Perform Net USA marquee. This service seems okay. One can try it out by putting his/her resume on-line and see how successful it is.
