PREFACE


For the Summer Semester 1996, Session 1, the Collaborative Report for English 393 was to design a home page for job searching. The task was divide into three distinct divisions: Writing & Research, Graphics & Page Design, and HTML.

The Writing & Research group responsibilities were as follows: visiting sites on WWW and writing an evaluation of each, deciding on the proper steps in the process, creating final manual from drafts submitted by each group, overseeing the editing and proofreading process, and delegating writing tasks to other groups. The group leader is Lisa Taylor. Group members include: Katie Feibel, Carolyn Elliot, Rich Ruskey, Michelle Morning, and Mitch Jones.

The HTML group responsibilities were as follows: translating documents from WordPerfect (or other word processing program) into HTML, conferring with graphics group for desired graphics to accompany steps in processing, testing draft of manual on appropriate audience, teaching students to create home page using HTML. The group leader is Brian Kolar. Group members include: Glenn Hahn, Beth Goodman, Pat Welker, Alicia Gruss, and Sharon Tyler.

The Graphics & Design group responsibilities were as follows: designing all figures, tables, and drawings; deciding the manual’s page design, conferring about ways to illustrate steps in process, helping students add graphics to home page. The group leader is Sam Walton. Group members include: Mike Watts, Susan Tsu, Claudia Orjuela, Nathan Upshur, Aroos Shafi, Dmitry Guzovsky.

The liason was Quentin Tyson. His responsibilities included the overall coordination of the project, meeting with the group leaders and keeping track of deadlines.
