REVIEW OF SWAPNIL'S PROJECT-------STRESS RELATED RESPONSES IN MICROBIAL CELL CULTURES






This project talks about the stress related responses in microbial cell culture. It can be seen that the author spent a lot of time and energy to study about this field and get materials about this topic. It gave us some new knowledge.

Some aspects of the project are very good:

  THE BACKGROUND
The author used a very good background. The blue left part makes the screen very beautiful and the right white part makes the text very clear. The reader feels very comfortable when visit the web site.
  THE IMAGES
The blue balls and the flower are correctly used in the project. The whole site looks simple, not fancy but beautiful.
  THE STYLE
The style is always consistent and there is also variety. The visitors will not feel tedious while reading the text.


  THE ORGANIZATION

The organization of this project is very clear and easy to follow. You can go back to the main menu whenever you are. The reader can clearly see what the author is talking about and what he will talk about.
  THE CONTENT
The content of this project is wonderful. Not only the stress responses of the microorganisms are introduced, their cellular mechanism and clinical importance are also given. In my eyes, it is a very good term paper.
Some aspects can be improved:
 
There are some spelling mistakes. Sometime there is one space between two words, sometime there are two, sometime there maybe four. This makes the page not perfect. These can be easily corrected using the "spelling" tool in netscape composer.

This project looks like a term paper indeed (as I mentioned before), but not a web site based project. Few links are included in the project. The reason may be that this field is a relatively new one, there are not a lot of materials on the web. 

Some abbreviations used in this project are not explained. For example, in http://www.gl.umbc.edu/~sbharg1/ENCH772/paradn.html, the author writes: "in addition,   recovery  from  anoxia,  wounding  and  several viral   infections are  also  associated  with induction  of  Hsps." The author never said what is Hsp, although we can guess that it means "heat shock protein".

  In http://www.gl.umbc.edu/~sbharg1/ENCH772/adapt.html, several links are given: [ FREE BANNER MAKER | FREE WEB SPACE | FREE WEB TOOLS ], but it seems that they have nothing with this project. Maybe the author just want them to entertain the readers. I am glad to see that it seems that the author has noticed this and deleted it.

All together, this is a successful project. I am sure that not only we, but also the author, learned a lot from this project. Here I want to thank the author for all his effort to make this web site available to all of us.
