The authors Hennessey and Patterson have written a few books with very similar titles, be sure to get the right book. Second Edition, ISBN 1-55860-329-8 or -327-7 Reading and homework assignments are from this book.
Reference book: You will need VHDL reference material. Some is on the WEB. Either "The Student's Guide to VHDL" by Ashenden or better "The Designer's Guide to VHDL" by Ashenden are good. "Designer's Guide" second edition comes out late September, ISBN 1-55860-674-2, $55.95

UMBC rules apply to cheating/copying. You may work together and discuss homework and the project. You must do your own work and not copy from anyone else! Copying/cheating will result in a minimum punishment of a zero on that assignment.
You need access to a VHDL compiler and simulator All students must have an account on the UMBC gl machines. The some homework will use the "submit" mechanism. All students must be able to access the WWW to get assignments. Modem and telnet connections are available for remote use. Also, Linux may be used for working the simulation project.
