Configuring Maple
Maple's user interface is quite customizable. Unfortunately
its default settings are less than desirable.
In fact, in my opinion they are so awful as to make Maple almost unusable.
Fortunately you can adjust those settings by following these simple
instructions.
Bring up Maple. Then:
- On Linux or Windows, pull down the Tools menu and select
Options....
- On a Mac, go to Maple menu and select Preferences.
This will pop up a dialog box in which you
can enter customization options.
- In the dialog box, select the Display tab
then change the value of Input display
from 2-D Math Notation
to Maple notation.
- In the dialog box, select the Interface tab
then change the value of
Default format for new worksheets
from Document
to Worksheet.
- Click the Apply Globally button
at the bottom of the dialog box.
- Quit Maple by pulling down the File menu (at the extreme upper left
of the Maple display) and selecting Exit.
From now on, when you start Maple, the new settings will be the default.
Please note
The setting above will not convert any previous documents
that you may have made under Maple's original settings.
Sorry. They apply only to new worksheets that you will make after this
configuration.
