To all students thinking about taking GEOG 386 (Intro to GIS) next fall:
I forgot to ask this question in class today (Thursday, Feb. 4), so I'm hoping if you see this you'll respond to me via email (miller@umbc.edu).
We are polling our students to see what time slot will be acceptable as we try to work around a couple of scheduling problems. Right now we are considering putting the lecture on Tuesday and Thursday morning from 8:30 to 9:50 a.m., but with the lab from 5 to 7 p.m. on one afternoon a week - possibly Thursday, possibly another day. However we are concerned about whether putting the lecture and the lab at opposite ends of the schedule poses a problem. We don't have a lot of choices, but one suggestion was to do the class two evenings a week, perhaps Tuesday-Thursday at 6:00-8:30 p.m. or thereabouts.
If you plan to take the course next fall, please send me a message to let me know whether either or both of these times poses a serious problem.
