Luis Mauricio Pinet-Peralta

Associate Director, HAPP

Born in Meixco City, worked as a paramedic for the Mexican Red Cross. Attended medical school and trransfered to the University of South Alabama, completing a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Psychology and Emergency Medical Services. Worked as a field paramedic in Alabama and Mississippi for several years before moving to back to Mexico City to manage a third-level hospital's EMS Department. After two years, he moved back to the United States and completed his Master's degree in Emergency Health Services at UMBC. He then worked two years for the Maryland Department of Disabilities before coming back to UMBC to complete his Ph.D. in Health Policy. After completing his doctorate degree he worked for a small research firm in DC before accepting the role as HAPPs Associate Director.
