What is dis dare hex color schtuff?
You may have downloaded an image such as this from the Pirate Kitten site. It requires a "knockout." To make the background of the graphic and the web page exactly in sync you must convert RGB to HEX.
- open your .GIF file in Photoshop, using the eyedropper tool, click on the background color so it appears in the foreground of the Toolbox.
- Click on the foreground color
- write down the 3 numbers associated with R, G and B (red, green and blue)
- Use you "Hexadecimal Equivalent" guide in HTML book, the left number is your RGB equivalent and the right number is your HEX conversion.
- String the results together to form a 6digit/letter sequence
- In PageMill look at your HTML code (command+H)
- type in your 6 digit/letters where it says background color.
The box outline of your .GIF file should be seamless with the background of your web page.
Rather than having the movie always automatically playing, you can make your movie interactive by adding the tag: AUTOPLAY=FALSE. Simply add this command in the HTML code before the close bracket where your file name exists.
PageMill sets a default that your movie is 100x100 pixels. That's too big and therefore you can't align an image just above it. Change the height to 10 pixels in your HTML.
