Stettin, November 30, 1880
I have received your letter from the 16th and you will have
already received the 10 dollar I sent to your wife.
Now with regards to your letter, I forbid you once and for all
to send me papers and threatening letters of this nature, which
can only give me reason to never again send you even one dollar.
If you think you can blackmail me with your letters, you are greatly
mistaken. I have done more for you than anybody else, and of all
of them I have the least reason for it, because your earlier letters,
which I am still keeping,, would be reason enough to drop you
altogether. I have written to your wife that I will gladly contribute
my share to the support, and therefore you can turn to brother
Gustav, who is the oldest, so that he gets the others to do the
same; I have no idea how you get around to writing me letters
like this, I have promised to send support to your family over
there, which I have done, you have already received 30 dollars
from me, I therefore have to forbid you once more to write threatening
letters like this, if you don't want that I never send you anything
again, which, anyway, happens only while you are over there with
your family, since I aim mainly to make things easier on your
wife.
Give our love to your wife and write to Gustav so that he takes charge of the matter, since my good words are not heeded.
Greetings from your brother
Carl Friederici.
