Kurrent Script

This 16thc. form of German handwriting was abolished by Adolf Hitler during WWII foriegn occupation. While he initially made Kurrent script manditory, he found it was too difficult to keep foreign subjects in line and repealed this script for the more western roman writing. Like Fractur it was considered very quaint and very German, but only understood by Prussian decendents. This writing form was no longer taught in schools as a second lettering system after 1954.
