THE INTERNET
Below are a selection
of Internet sites related to literary studies. They all contain links to a large
variety of fiction and poetry, literary history and theory,research tools, and
bibliographies.
The Voice
of the Shuttle, created by Alan Liu at the University of California, Santa
Barbara, is the best site to begin an Internet search for humanities materials.
The Literary Pages contain
excellent links to ninteenth
-century and twentieth-
century American literature as well as links to sites devoted to literary theory,
genre studies,
and gender studies.
The page offering links to major libraries
and museums is especially useful.
- For those doing work
in the eithteenth and nineteenth centuries, the Romantic
Chronology
(created by Alan Liu and Laura Mandell, Dept. of English, Miami U., Ohio)
by will be especially useful. Although it focuses on the years from 1785 to
1837, the Chronology begins in the seventeenth century and continues on through
the mid-nineteenth century.
