Sunday evening and why this story is so important to you.

SHAH: Well, the film is a story of a journey three of us made, me and two
crew members, earlier in the year. It's important to me personally, because
my family originally came from Afghanistan. What we tried to do was return
to the area where my family came from, which I'd never seen before. I
remember when I was a child, my father would tell me stories of a garden in
the area where my family came from, and I was told it was the most
beautiful place in the world, with fountains, fruit trees, and wonderful
things. We thought we'd try to go there, and see what happened to it now,
and understand along the way what's happening in Afghanistan."

I caught the last 15 minutes of Beneath the Veil last night--what I saw was
excellent.  I would like to purchase a copy of the video--does anyone have
a source.  I've looked at the CNN and BBC web sites and find no purchase
info.  Also would like to know if it is going to be rebroadcast.

If you go to cnn.com and click on transcripts, then click on date of Sept.
19, scroll down list.  Title of special is America's New War: Beneath the
Veil.  You can order on-line at http://www.fdch.com
I purchased today for our program at The College of New Jersey.

According to the CNN website, Beneath the Veil can be ordered by calling
800-CNN-NEWS or by way of their secure online order form located at
www.fdch.com.  The video for personal use only is $49.95 and the business
use version is $125.95.  On 8/27 I was also able to read a draft version of
the video transcript; I don't know if it is still on-line.

I'm confused about this because we have been trying to obtain this
video. Our media person thought that the transcript appeared to be
only the remarks from CNN about the film, and not the film itself.
Has anyone ordered who can clarify this?

After a lot of time spent in frustration, one of our resourceful,
persistent library acquisitions staff discovered a way to order the video
"Beneath the Veil" using a credit card, and we now have it in hand--it
actually came in very quickly.  It was $125.95, including shipping.  Her
instructions:

Saira Shah, the filmmaker who recorded "Beneath the Veil," has a second film
of her return trip to Afghanistan called "Unholy War" that will debut
