Settling An American Colony for Prince Henry |
Henry Prince of Whales in 1610 |
Introduction |
King James I granted several charters for new land off the coast of America in the early 1600s. The British saw great opportunity in colonizing America. New land could be acquired to expand the British empire, and resources, such as food and gold, could be shipped home to improve the quality of life. With more goods, the British could become more wealth in trading with other nations.

Your task is to explore the three regions (New England, Middle, and Southern) to identify the region the presents the greatest opportunity for a thriving and successful colony. Prince Henry will be judged on his success as a leader of the colony as he prepares to succeed his father, so be careful in your decision making. Here is a map of the three regions. |
