RSA is an asymmetric cryptosystem that uses a block cipher
Designed in 1977 by Rivest, Shamir and Adelman
The design is based upon number theory
Uses exponential key exchange based on composite numbers
RSA takes advantage of the fact that prime numbers are easy to compute and factoring them is reasonably difficult
