Maryland Language Options in GED Testing


Testing in Spanish Language

For those who request it, the Spanish language form of the GED Tests will be given. However, English competency is required of all candidates seeking the Maryland High School Diploma. Therefore, in addition to the Spanish test battery, examinees must also take the Writing Skills Test in English. The Writing Skills Test consists of both an essay and multiple-choice questions. If you wish to take the Spanish language form of the GED Tests, you must indicate "Spanish" for #13 on the application.

Testing in French Language

For those who request it, the French language form of the GED Tests will be given. However, English competency is required of all candidates seeking the Maryland High School Diploma. Therefore, in addition to the French test battery, examinees must also take the Writing Skills Test in English. The Writing Skills Test consists of both an essay and multiple-choice questions. If you wish to take the French language form of the GED Tests, you must write the word "French" for #13 on the application.
