The Certified Computing Professional (CCP) program was established to meet an increasing interest in defining and developing standards for knowledge and professional conduct for business systems personnel. The program requires periodic recertification through continuing education. It is open to all qualified business systems personnel, regardless of association affiliation.
The objective of the CCP program are to:
Four years of experience is required to meet the minimum competency standard for the Certified Computing Professional designation, with at least one year of experience in management, consulting, or project management. A two- or three-year maximum is imposed on other areas of experience to ensure that the CCP has a broad range of skills. Applicants are required to pass an extensive validated examination administered by an independent professional agency.
Continuing education is required to ensure that CCP holders maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and professional capability. Recertification is required every 3 years.
