Math 426 - Introduction to Mathematical Software Packages: Matlab

Fall 2002 - Matthias K. Gobbert

Schedule

Math 426 is a 2-credit course. This schedule is designed to deliver these credits in a standard 3-credit time slot by meeting only for the first two-thirds of the semester. This choice was made to prevent unnecessary overlap of this course's time slot with other classes. To make the class meetings most effective, they are slightly lengthened to 80 minutes per meeting. This translates to 19 class meetings including the midterm (but excluding the final exam).

Unfortunately, I will still be out of town on Thursday, August 29, 2002. Therefore, there will be no class meeting on that day, and the schedule is moved back by one day.

This schedule is designed to give you an overview of the material to be covered and is tentative in nature. Only the major topics are listed, we will cover parts of several additional short chapters as part of the course, including Chapters 10, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, and 21.
The chapter numbers refer to Desmond J. Higham and Nicholas J. Higham, Matlab Guide, SIAM, 2000.
