Finite Element Circus Fall 2024 UMBC

The Fall 2024 Finite Element Circus was held at UMBC on Friday and Saturday, October 18-19.

Venue and Schedule

Friday, 1:30pm–5:30pm: Talks are held in the first floor Seminar room at the UMBC Research and Technology Park South Campus (BW Tech South), 1450 South Rolling Road, Baltimore, MD 21227 (see small map inside this map).
Note that this is not on the main Campus, it is a five minute drive from the Administration Building. It is not recommended to walk from the main Campus to BW Tech South.
Directions to BW Tech South: from I-95 (North or South) take Exit 47B towards Catonsville (166N). Stay in the center lane on 166 N following signs for Rolling Rd, CCBC, Catonsville; do not exit towards UMBC Campus or for Park & Ride. At the first traffic light (intersection with Rolling Road) make a left turn towards Arbutus, BW Tech South. In less than 1/2 mile make a right turn towards BW Tech South (follow the signs). Follow the road for another 1/2 mile until you reach the main building.
Friday, 6:30pm–9:30pm: Dinner at Matthew's 1600 in Catonsville. Click here for more information.
Saturday, 9:00am–3:30pm (tentative): Talks in room ITE104 (see this map) (on the main Campus), with lunch (provided) and coffee breaks.

Lunch on Friday

There are several lunch options on the main UMBC Campus most of which are located in the Commons Building (see Campus Maps). We recommend the Skylight Room on the top floor of Commons. Other options can be found on the marked map, or in Catonsville at the intersection of Frederick Road and Mellor. There is also a small cafeteria on the third floor of the building where the meeting is held.
