Configure TCP/IP for Static Addressing
To be done only on the future DC/DNS server
1. Log into your server
as Administrator. Go to the CMD prompt and
use IPCONFIG command to
find out your IP address, subnet mask and
Default gateway. Add 100
to the last number of your IP address - that will
be your server's static
IP address (i.e. if your current address is
192.168.1.10 make it
192.168.1.110).
2. Open Server Manager and click Local Server.
3. In the right pane
under Properties, find the network connection listing, such as Ethernet
and click the link to
the right.
4. Right click your
Ethernet connection and choose Properties
5. Double-click Internet
Protocol Version 4.
6. Click Use the
following IP address, and then type the IP address, Subnet mask and Default
gateway address from step 1 (make sure to use the newly derived IP address,
with
100 added to the last
number).
7. Click OK. Click OK in
the Ethernet Properties and close the dialog box.
