To rack up MEGA points in Wave Race 64 stunt courses, press the pause button as soon as you complete a stunt. If you do it right, all the sounds should stop except for the announcer ("I can do that!", "What a great stunt!", etc.) Usually if you press pause at the exact moment you hit the water you should be OK, but the idea is to pause it the instant the announcer starts talking (that way this cheat works with handstands, etc.). If you do it right, you should get tons of points for the simplest things.
Try to press and hold down the gas button right before the announcer says, "Go!" If you are successful, you will immediately increase your top speed. It can be increased anywhere from one arrow to maximum power if you get it right.
On the Watercraft Select screen, hold Up on the Analog Stick or the Digital Pad. Your character should change color. To race with this color, keep holding Up and press A.
First get some speed with the jet ski. When you are on the ramp tap up one inch from the top of the ramp and hold down to do your flip. Instead of making the character do one complete flip hold the down button longer so he does another turn. If you do it correctly he will land perfectly and ride on. J. Meter is the best guy to do this especially on the small ramps. You get 2000+ points for this stunt.
It is a variation of the flip where you spin side ways. When you are on the ramp turn sharply diagonal left-up or diagonal right-up then hold down to do a side ways flip. You can get an average of 1700+ points for this.
Do the helicopter stunt as listed above but hold the down button more longer. It will look like he does a helicopter move but then rotates so he is an upright position and does another flip. You can get 2500+ points if done correctly.
To my knowledge this stunt can only be done in Glacier Park on the big ramp. You need a lot of speed and a lot of air to do this. It can only be done with J. Meter on this stage to my knowledge. You tap up 1-2 inches from the top of the ramp and start doing the flip and hold down. You need a lot of speed for this one so do not try to do any turns or get hit by an ice block in the water which may slow you down or stop you completely. You can get 3000+ points for this. Note that this is a difficult stunt to perform and you do need a lot of speed, timing, and maybe some tinkering with the customization of the racer at the character select screen.
Get all the way up to the fastest speed you can. Approach the ramp the same way you would if you were doing a barrel roll. (To do this trick, you must have already mastered the barrel roll) On the ramp, move the stick left, and then in the air move it right, like a regular barrel roll, but when you move it right, rotate the stick backwards so you do a flip. Let go as soon as the bottom of the Jet Ski is parallel to the water. This can also work for a barrel roll from right to left. Again, move the stick to the left, to the right, and then to back-right. You should get at least 1500 points.
While on the ramp, tap diagonal Down-Right and the hold diagonal Up-Left to do an Inverted Helicopter Flip.
This trick is in stunt mode of Dolphin Park. In the beginning of the course, right out of the gate, you have to lean your rider vertically by pulling back on the controller, but not to far. As soon as you hit a wave you push forward on the control stick. This will cause you to dive under water. You have to hold the control stick in the forward position. This trick has gotten me 2,000 points before even hitting a ramp.
First, go to Stunt Mode and select Dolphin Park. Then, go through all the rings and do the following stunts:
If you do all the stunts above and go through all the rings, you'll hear dolphins. When you go back to the title screen, you'll see someone riding a dolphin. Now, select Championship, then choose the Normal difficulty, then choose Warm Up. On the Watercraft Select screen, hold Down on the Digital Pad (NOT the Analog Stick). Continue holding Down until you get to the "Welcome to Dolphin Park" screen.
If you fall off your Watercraft, keep hitting A quickly to get back up.
This is very similar to the other method of getting mega points except with a few helpful hints. Do a trick off the first ramp or whatever you can find(sand works). Hit the pause button as you land on the water. Now get as many rings as possible, don't do any more air stunts, and go through the check points with as little time left as possible. If you get to a check point and have lots of time left, start doing some stunts like handstands, etc. The only stunt you shouldn't do is the twist with a Back Flip. Now when you get to the finish line, if should give you about 30,000 to 40,000 points for those stunts. I've got 52,000 in Glacier Coast.
In places like Drake Lake, after you go around the first corner, go wide and do the flip on the mound of dirt. In courses like Dolphin Park and Sunny Beach, do it off the waves. You don't have to make the stunt to get this trick to work. Good Luck!
