PLEASE NOTE: I have moved University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill as of Fall 2011. (This page will eventually move, too). I will be an assistant professor at the School of Information and Library Science as well as in the Department of Sociology. (I was an assistant professor of sociology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.) I am also going to be a fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University in 2011-2012. My research revolves around the interaction between technology and social, cultural and political dynamics. I am particularly interested in collective action and social movements, complex systems, surveillance, privacy, and sociality. I知 also interested in applying complex systems methods to sociological problems. You can find information about my research and some of my papers on this site.
