My current research

   I am leading the Genomics/Genetics Analysis in the Department of Computational Biology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I am actively involved in the analysis of next-generation sequencing data in various large projects within St Jude including Pediatric Cancer Genome Project (Downing et al 2012), Sick Cell Disease, and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

   Heterologous gene expression is a process to express a gene in a non-native host. The goal of my Ph. D. study was to improve heterologous gene expression level by redesigning nucleotide sequence.

   I developed a web application Synthetic Gene Designer to optimize codon usage for boosting protein expression.
