Tutorial #2
Due September 23rd at 10:00 a.m.
Enter the sub-directory you have created for 403 coursework. From this sub-directory, go into the sub-directory for your Tutorial_2 work. Within this sub-directory you will create the web page for a greatly modified and updated version of Mr. Dube's class information. This file, chem.htm, along with the two linked files, are developed from pages 2.01 - 2.31 of your text. Please note that you will not start with your chem.htm from the Tutorial_1 directory. Leave the Tutorial_1 directory as it is. Instead, you will go into the textbook student disk, and into 10112-1 and open the sub-directory for Tutorial.02. From this sub-directory, go into the folder for "tutorial" and copy the three .htm files and the one .jpg file. As with the Tutorial.01 files, you will copy the xxx.jpg and xxx.htm files into your appropriate directory without the leading directory references. (This will be done either at school using the W: drive or at home using FTP). The .htm files will provide you with the starting documents that you need. When you are done, your work from your Tutorial_1 directory will not have changed and you will have new, enhanced pages for Mr. Dube in your Tutorial_2 directory. Be sure to test your links and make sure they go where they intend to go!
When you have completed the Tutorial, do the Review Assignment on Page 2.32.
After completing the text exercise, go to the "Case Problems" at the end of the chapter and create Case #3, "Diamond Health Club, Inc.", found on pages 2.37 - 2.39 of the text. This will also be created in your Tutorial_2 sub-directory.
In order do this case study, you will again have to go to the data disk, the 10112-1 and open the sub-directory for Tutorial.02. From this sub-directory, go into the folder for "case3" and copy the three .htm files and the three .jpg files .Be sure to test your links and make sure they go where they intend to go!
You do not have to print out either the tutorial exercise or the assigned project, as these will be viewed at 10:00 a.m.
At the start of class September 23rd there will be a short closed book quiz based on the material of Tutorial #2.
All following tutorial assignments will take this same format:
1) Complete the tutorial exercise and its Review Assignment in the
appropriate sub-directory using the appropriate files from the student
disk
2) Complete the assigned Case Study from the back of the chapter
3) Take a short closed book quiz at the beginning of class.
