photo of Bedřich Sousedík I am an associate professor at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. University of Maryland, Baltimore County. I have been at the university since August 2014. I obtained M.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering (2001) and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (2008) from Czech Technical University in Prague, and M.S. and Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics (2010) from University of Colorado Denver. Prior to joining the department I was a research associate at University of Southern California and University of Maryland, College Park.

My primary research interest is applied and computational mathematics. This in particular includes numerical analysis, scientific computing, uncertainty quantification, stochastic finite element methods, domain decomposition and multigrid methods.
