Critical Reading Response

A critical reading response allows you to react to the reading and then reflect on your reactions. The first step involves reading the text and getting it messy - mark those places where you are confused, angry, excited or pleased, disturbed. When you write your response, write about these places in the text. After you've recorded your reactions, then think about the reasons for your particular reactions. Use about half your response to record your reactions and half your response to reflect on those reactions.

Format - the critical reading response should be 3 pages long, double-spaced, 12 pt. font. Please hand in hard copy.
