Reader Responses

Check your daily plan for classes when a reader response is due (some classes will require more than one reader response) and prepare a one-page, typewritten, double-spaced critical response to the reading indicated. We will use these responses as a way to stimulate class discussion, so be prepared to read your response out loud in class. Each response should be titled and dated (give a title that reflects your thoughts). Save all your reader responses, since you will choose your eight best responses and hand them in to me on October 12. Don't procrastinate on these responses or try to catch up on them -- they are not meant to be great works of art. You don't have to worry about constructing a cohesive one-page essay. Just focus on parts of the reading where you were intrigued, bothered, puzzled. These responses may also provide you with ideas for some of your essays.

As soon as I start reviewing some of the first reader responses and when I receive permission from a couple writers, I'll post a reader response or two on this page.
