Everyone must write a brief paper on one of the theories of human nature discussed in Ten Theories of Human Nature. What you need to do is pick a chapter of this book and then describe the theory of human nature as it is explained in this text. Next you need to look to the back of the chapter that you have selected and pick a 2nd text from the list presented there as For Further Reading. You now need to compare what is said in the 2nd text with what is said in Ten Theories. Do the 2 texts say the same thing? Does the author add anything in the 2nd text that goes beyond what was said in Ten Theories?
Your paper should have a basic structure. It should include the following
items.
1. Introduction
This should give the reader of your paper a brief
roadmap of what your paper will accomplish.
2. Give an account of your thinker's theory of human nature.
State what is said in Ten Theories as well as in
the 2nd text you select. Does the 2nd text say the same thing as ten
theories or does it differ?
3. What does your theorist say is wrong with humans?
4. What does your theorist say should be done to correct what is wrong
with humans?
5. Do you agree or disagree with what your theorist says? Why do you
agree or disagree with what your theorist says. Explain in
detail.
6. Draw a conclusion about what you think you've accomplished in your
analysis.
