Jiu-jitsu
I currently hold a blue belt in freestyle jiu-jitsu under the instruction of Luke Rinehart at Clinch Academy. I have been a student for about six years and have accrued 635 hours of instruction during that time. The art is very similar to Brazilian jiu-jitsu. At Clinch, in Division III, we focus on MMA grappling (no gi), striking, and advanced take-downs and submissions. I attend the Division III class on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30-9:30 p.m. I also assist in the teenagers' class from 7-8 p.m. on Thursday. Usually, I attend also open mat (studio is open for grappling practice w/ other students) on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. This is my favorite sport, and I enjoy it immensely. It is a good way to stay in shape, and the mental and physical discipline that I learn is valuable.
Hiking
Although I have not hiked on large mountains, I hike in the Frederick, MD area to places such as Chimney Rock and Wolf Rock. I have been once to Annapolis Rock, and also hiked the Billy Goat Trail
