Service Learning for Information Systems
Linking Community Service to Academic Experience
This service-learning experience is for all levels of students providing IS-related support for community organizations.
Often our students are called upon to help a variety of not-for-profit agencies as they create or re-develop information systems to assist their operations. IS 199 allows us to link those activities to an academic experience and provide visible credit to the students. The IS Department works with the Shriver Center on campus to provide this opportunity.
Students who wish to do IS 199 are encouraged to look at the current syllabus to get an idea about the requirements and then contact either the course instructor or the Shriver Center to find out about registration procedures.
