Website Evaluation:
“Considerations for Scale-Up
of Bioreactors Used in Mammalian Cell Culture Production” by Halima Namatovu
This
website looks fantastic! It looks like you put a lot of work into this project,
and it was very organized. Great
Job! Here are some comments I have
about specific details:
Positives:
·
The
background and picture on the start page look great! I also like the background on the subject pages.
·
I
liked the outline on the start page - it gives the viewer a good overview of
the website, so they can decide if they want to look at it or not.
·
Having
the references linked to a reference page made it easy to read.
·
The
consistency in format between the outline pages really helped tie the project
together.
·
The
content was very thorough and easy to follow - seemed to cover all the major
points and explain them well.
·
The
diagrams really aided understanding.
·
The
links are very relevant to the subject material.
Negatives:
·
The
formatting was weird in places, i.e., line breaks when most of the rest of the
line was empty. This may just be an
artifact of my viewer.
·
From
the outline I would have guessed that the unnumbered sections of the outline
were subcategories… It was a little confusing and disjointed at first. Perhaps it would be better to label those as
links in the outline.
·
Some
of the pages were really long. It would
have been nice to have an outline of each page’s contents with links to each of
the major sections within the page.
·
The
“scale-up strategies” link doesn’t work.
Other Suggestions for
Improvement:
·
Instead
of listing the links in between the outline items, it would have aided the flow
of the site better to have the links included in the page at the corresponding
section.
·
A
smaller font on the start page would have made it easier to see the whole
outline, but this may have just been an artifact of my viewer.
·
In
addition to a link back to the start page, make a NEXT button that links to the
following page, so that the viewer doesn’t have to remember what page they were
on last. It also makes the reading
faster and easier.
·
There
are a couple of misspellings which should be fixed, but the number of them is
very small.
